What to do in Sibiu

Sibiu is one of Romania's cultural and tourism capitals, attracting tourists due to its wonderful medieval charm, excellent views of the surrounding landscapes, great food, and stunning parkland.

Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu

"Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu (LBUS) is a higher education institution in Sibiu. It is composed of nine universities and more distance education centers in different cities. The total number of students of LBUS was, in 2013, of 16 562. LBUS Students come from all counties, but also from foreign countries. 

ULBS signed cooperation agreements with 108 universities, of which four consortia, 33 cooperation agreements and 61 Erasmus partnerships with universities from around the world.

University of Montana

 The University of Montana is a public research university located in Missoula, Montana, in the United States. Founded in 1893, the university is the flagship campus of the four-campus University of Montana System and is its largest institution. The main campus is located at the foot of Mount Sentinel, the mountain bearing Missoula's most recognizable landmark, a large hillside letter "M." It is a major source of research, continuing education, economic development and fine arts, as well as a driving force in strengthening Montana's ties with countries throughout the world.

About the programme

This is a faculty-led, intensive, two-week summer school program on international business in a unique setting: University Lucian Blaga (ULBS) in Sibiu, Romania.  The program is designed to expose students to the realities of conducting business in an international environment by providing rich and real cross-cultural experiences through a blend of mini internships with local and multinational companies, workshops, field trips, and participation in socio-cultural events. The program will focus on topics related to international strategies, global competitiveness, world trade and commerce, and the specifics of conducting business in Romania, a relatively new member of the European Union.  By the end of the program students will:

(1) understand the challenges of doing business across cultural, economic, geographic and administrative boundaries;

(2) assess market-specific considerations that affect the different aspects of business practice;

(3) receive in-depth exposure to the Romanian culture and business practices.

The course strives to embed students in the fabric of the local community so they can develop an understanding and appreciation of the local business and society realities.
